One of the marvelous parts of working on a show house is the comraderies of the fellow artisans working there. They love to share their knowledge. You learn new tricks of the trade, interesting ways to use mediums you hadn’t thought of or where to buy better products. At the Nathaniel Windsor show house I learned that one could use the reverse side of vinyl flooring to create a floor matt that could go outside.
At the Pilgrim Hall Museum show house I was very fortunate to aid Nels Anderson. He is the most competent designer in the decorative art field I have known. My job was to reproduce and paint the design he chose for the floor. My role may have been small but as always working in the show house was rewarding. Working with Nels a joy.
